Symantec on Tuesday announced another acquisition, this time in the virtualization space. The vendor is acquiring nSuite Technologies, a privately-held virtual workspace management company, to expand its endpoint virtualization product line with presentation virtualization and connection brokering technologies. The deal is expected to close this month; Symantec didn’t disclose the purchase price.

nSuite’s PrivacyShell software, which allocates applications and resources based on user needs regardless of device, was designed for the healthcare industry but is applicable across other verticals, said Brad Rowland, director of enterprise marketing for Symantec’s endpoint virtualization group. nSuite’s technologies will operate with Symantec’s Altiris Software Virtualization Solution Professional, which includes technology it acquired with the acquisition of AppStream in April. Symantec acquired Altiris in 2007.
